Years of EV Charging Experience
Starting as a proud Nissan Leaf owner, I found the noticeable reduction of Chademo plugs in public charging hubs. Then going through some trial and error I have found the best Chademo to CCS adaptor in the market and dedicated more effort to maximise the compatibility particularly for the UK market plus more.
The close relationship with the manufacturing & engineering team in Asia means that I can bring you the best possible product at great value.

What does a Chademo to CCS adaptor do?
The adaptor "translates" signal between Chademo and CCS and thus enables Japanese and Korean EVs to use a European CCS2 charging plug.
What cars can benefit from it?
Notably all Nissan Leaf (ZE0 and ZE1), eNV200, Lexus UX300e and Kia Soul 30kWh version.
Why do I need one?
As more recent EV models are adopting CCS standards especially in Asia and Europe, the installation of Chademo charging plugs are slowing down dramatically. Many charging hubs are even installing CCS plugs only lately while in the Tesla Superchargers and Ionity in the UK are 100% CCS from scratch.
So Chademo EV drivers who occasionally go on longer trips requiring a quick top-up will increasingly find it more difficult to get hold of a charger, or have to queue for the only Chademo plug in a motorway service.
Using an adaptor will not only resolve the issue, but effectively enables the owner to expand the accessibility of using both Chademo and CCS plugs.
Why is the adaptor so expensive?
It is effectively a small computer inside the adaptor which "translates" the signal and handles voltage and current in real-time. It was once considered impossible except being engineered by the EV manufacturer but the R&D team made the miracle happened.
Does it work it all CCS charging hubs?
In short, no. CCS is a very complex protocol and even the big EV makers like Mercedes-Benz, MG and BYD are known to have issues with the latest CCS chargers. But the good news is nearly all issues are software related so that's why we are here to do ongoing field tests, collect data and create firmware specifically for the UK and Europe.
Where can I find the firmware updates?
Use the contact form to submit the charging station you have issues with. We will send you the suitable firmware based on your region and/or EV model.
Why should I choose EV-BOY over other brands?
While all adaptors may look the same, I am a proud Nissan Leaf owner myself and do make use of the adaptor every now and then. As such I feel obliged to serve the Leaf (and broader Chademo adaptor user) community as every field test I take will ultimately benefit every one of us.
Where can I learn more about the adaptor?
Please look up NISSAN EV Owners Group UK on Facebook, where dozens of the EV-BOY adpator users gather, share information and offer quick answers that otherwise are not found here.
